Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve always wanted long hair and although I wasn’t allowed to have it (school restrictions), I envied those who did. Fast forward a few decades later… and I have the hair of my dreams! Needless to say I’m pretty obsessed with taking care of it. My hair is bleached blonde with platinum highlights, and it can be tough to maintain the colour AND keep my locks healthy and hydrated.

I feature my hair A LOT on Instagram, and get asked lots of questions about my haircare routine and the steps I take to try and keep it healthy and long. Starting Fall 2017, I tried out a new haircare routine featuring some items from the L’Oréal Paris EverPure Moisture Line and I am really loving the results so far!

I tried out the  L’Oreal EverPure Moisture Shampoo, Conditioner, and a 10-in-1 elixir which is a leave-in treatment. Since my hair is pretty dry (all that bleach!), the EverPure Moisture shampoo and conditioner contains rosemary and helps replenish essential moisture and shine to my locks. I love how there are no harsh sulfates, salts or surfactants that can damage my hair.

Step 1 of my haircare routine involves using the L’Oreal EverPure Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner in the shower. I don’t wash my hair everyday – and you shouldn’t either because the extra washes will strip away the natural oils in your scalp (which helps naturally nourish your hair). I wait 2 or 3 days in between washes, and I generally time it after a workout or an intense shopping day (hahaha!). The L’Oreal EverPure Moisture Shampoo smells like lavender, which is really soothing. TIP: Make sure you take the time to shampoo your hair a second time AND to rinse out all the product from your hair! I always find that the first shampooing round is to lift the dirt and grease off the hair, and the second shampoo helps take away the gunk. This makes conditioning your hair much more effective! For conditioning, I leave the L’Oreal EverPure Moisture Conditioner in my hair for at least 3 minutes as I find this helps my hair soak in the goodness of the conditioner.

After I wash off my conditioner and step out of the shower, I towel dry my hair (DO NOT RUB HAIR BETWEEN TOWEL! Always pat down softly) and follow up with a few good spritz of the L’Oreal EverPure Moisture 10-in-one elixir. This is a skincare inspired super treatment with indian lilac that aims to deliver 10 benefits in 1 (1. Nourish 2. Hydrate 3. Soothe 4. Repair 5. Density 6. Smooth 7. Texture 8. Strength 9. Softness 10. Shine) – basically a spa treatment for your hair!

I then let my hair air dry to allow time for my hair cuticles to close, then when my hair is 50% dry I finish up by blow drying in a medium – low heat setting.

RESULTS

After using the L’Oreal EverPure Moisture line for 2 weeks, I’ve noticed a few subtle but important changes in my hair!

To begin with, my hair is a lot more manageable and soft. This says a lot given that my hair is super dry already. I find that the 10-in-one elixir really helps to smooth out any frizz and detangles my hair so it doesn’t get caught in my brush (and subsequently gets pulled out).

In addition – my bleached blonde hair color is maintained. Everyone who colors their hair knows that the blond tends to oxidize with time, turning into a brassy, orangey color. Despite the L’Oreal EverPure Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner not being a blonde or purple line, I find that the blonds in my hair are still maintained which is an added bonus – YAY!

So there you have it! I’ll be continuing to use the  L’Oréal Paris EverPure Moisture line for a longer period of time, and I’ll update any new findings here!

The L’Oreal EverPure Moisture line is the recipient of the “I recommend” award from cosmetics magazine in Canada, and is 100% Sulfate Free, 100% Paraben Free and 100% Vegan. If your hair is like mine – a little dull and dry – give this line a try and let me know what you think!

Hello hello my lovelies! As you might already know, I always enjoy trying out and testing lipsticks, especially ones that look very promising. The LÓreal Matte Lipsticks is no exception. Pretty packaging is always a plus, and even though these ones have a more elegant feel to them rather than girly and cute, they are still eye-catching. Matte black and gold detailing are a very good match!

As presented above, I am going to do an honest review of those five colors that range from light nudes to deep brown and more. Holidays are approaching quickly and I really can’t think of a better time to so some make up updates! Besides, it’s always loads of fun to try out new products =D

LÓreal Paris Matte Lipsticks

#703 – A gorgeous pink nude. Perfect to use for natural make-up looks, as it’s definitely not too bold. It’s downside is, as you can see on my lips, that the color is not as prominent when you wear it. The tube definitely makes it seem like a deeper color.

LÓreal Paris Matte Lipsticks

#712 – OMG, this one is VIBRANT! If you’re kind of gal who needs a bold fuchsia lipstick in her collection, this could be a great choice. I feel like it even gives the effect of plumper lips!

LÓreal Paris Matte Lipsticks

#800 – A nude shade. Unfortunately, the color payoff on the lips is not very similar to the shade in the tube. It has a pinkish undertone, and you might want to add more coats to make the color deeper.

#802 – A deeper shade of nude! If you want something a bit more pigmented than the previous one, I suggest you go for this shade. Again, the color in the lips is not as strong as it is in the tube, however, I think it looks quite cute overall!^^

#804 – LOVE this one! It’s deep brown color and I was very surprised on how good it looks on the lips. The ideal color to rock during those autumn days. This also probably has the most matte effect out of all the lipsticks in this collection.

PACKAGING: 8/10

As I mentioned in the beginning, I think the packaging has it’s strong point as it looks very elegant. There is also a good way to differentiate them, as they each have a specific signature. For example, #703 dubbed “Eva’s Pink” has a golden signature on it.

COLOR PAYOFF: 7/10

The lighter colors didn’t look as strong on the lips as they did in the packaging. You might have to apply one more layer if you want the full color effect, especially with the light nude ones! However, the fuchsia and deep brown tubes were very pretty. If you’re looking for the extreme pigment and matte effect, this collection might not exactly be your cup of tea. Those lipsticks are subtle, everyday colors that will give a natural vibe to your look^^

My favorite is number #703, it’s that perfect MLBB shade that’s perfect for everyday wear. For fall, my favorite is definitely #804 – it screams chic and can “dress your face up” even if you’re wearing minimal makeup!

Which is your favorite shade? Any new lippie loves lately? Please share!

Summer is finally here! That means short shorts, flip flops, and trips to the beach with the preparation to bare it all! If you are looking for that shimmering, moisturizing highlighting spray that smells heavenly, then you will LOVE the new Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Shimmering Body Oil Spray.

I’m a big fan of scents, and this body spray smells JUST. LIKE. SUMMER – warm, toasty and subtly sweet. And even though it looks super shimmery in the bottle, it’s not too overpowering on your skin, leaving just a trace of highlight shimmer while given your skin all the moisture it needs. A little bit goes a long way, and you can even use it on your hair as a hair oil!

My ends are super dry especially with frequent visits to the beach in the summer, and this oil helps with nourishing my hair while de-frizzing it. If you like the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess 2017 Collection,  you will without a doubt love the body oil with the signature Bronze Goddess scent.

What are some of your summer essentials?

Happy Valentine’s Day weekend! What can be more romantic than a little self-loving this valentine’s day? Since being a mommy I find that I hardly have time to dedicate to just ME anymore, and I am definitely in need of a little pampering session! These Vichy masks are the perfect presents to myself and since I got it I cannot wait to try them out!

Vichy masks review by Kerina Mango

I’ve used many different types of face masks, including sheet masks, mud masks and peel masks. These masks retail for $34 each, and can last you a long time if you treat yourself weekly! Here are my thoughts on each of the Vichy masks:

The Vichy Masque Argile Purifiant Pores, or the Pore Purifying Clay Mask contains Kaolin and Bentonite Clay, which are pore-cleansing properties to help draw out impurities from your pores. Although Vichy states that it can be used for all skin types, I find that clay masks in particular does WONDERS for oily or combination skin. My all time favorite clay mask is the Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque, but I find that it tends to dry out VERY FAST on the skin, as well as the in the tub once it’s opened. The Vichy Clay Mask is thick and dries on my skin slower, so I have more time to spread the mask evenly around my face. It also doesn’t make my skin too tight and taut which is a plus. The clay mask works by extracting impurities from deep within the pores to the surface, and is trapped within the mask and gets washed off. I rinse it off after 10-15 minutes with warm water, and my face instantly feels cleaner and less oily. It doesn’t give off a squeaky clean feeling compared to the Kiehl’s mask, and my skin feels more hydrated afterwards. I recommend using this mask once or twice a week depending on your skin type. Combination skin people can also use this along the oily areas and T zone of your skin!

The Vichy Masque Mineral Desalterant, or Quenching Mineral Mask reminds me so much of the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask which is super huge in Asia. Just like the Laneige mask, you can choose to rinse off after a few minutes or let it sit in your skin overnight for that boost of hydration. It smells super calming with Jasmine and green tea, and I popped this in the fridge before using it so it’s extra cooling (which seals your pores!). I sometimes also use this mask after the Clay mask to replenish and hydrate my skin. I always wake up in the morning feeling super refreshed and my skin feels softer and less dry!

Lastly, the Vichy Masque Peel Double Eclat, or the Double Glow Peel Mask is my favorite! It smells like peaches and is so refreshing. It also contains AHA (similar to the Mizon AHA Peeling Serum, which is one of my favorite serums) which my skin just LOVES AHA for some reason. I live in the dry Canadian climate so my skin, while being super oily, is sometimes flaky around the cheeks. This mask gets rid of all the dry patches and the vitamin C brightens my complexion after a few uses. Love, LOVE this mask!

What are some of your favorite skin masks this season? Do share!
