Mock Thigh-highs vs Real thigh-highs

    Hello sparkly icicles!!!
Hope everyone is having an AMAZING NEW YEAR so far!!!! A while back, Fiore Hosiery contacted me to see if I’d be willing to review a few pairs of leggings / tights for them. They are a Hosiery brand based in Poland with a wide variety of tights / thigh highs / stockings in an assortment of colours AND sizes – you can feel free to check out their product catalogue here.
Given my love for leggings and my 100 pairs of pure stash, you could imagine my excitement.
However I also stated that I would only be able to review them IF AND ONLY IF Fiore is OK with me providing my 100% HONEST OPINION since I think that’s the whole point of a review.
Fiore was generous to send me 4 pairs of leggings. Shipping from Poland to Toronto, Canada took less than 2 weeks which was surprisingly fast considering it was smack in the middle of holiday season!
The review will be on 2 pairs:
    1) The Vilena, thigh-highs with microfibre hold-ups; and
    2) The Noira,  tights with a mock thigh-high design.
    1) The Vilena – Thigh Highs
Before I get any not-so-nice comments regarding thigh highs, I just wanted to say that I believe thigh highs are fashionable too, YES outside of the bedroom, and YES they can be a fashion statement.

A Close up of the Vilena thigh highs, these stockings are extremely durable, and the double hold-up straps do a wonderful job of making these thigh highs defy gravity and grab on to your legs.

I love how you can’t even tell that it’s a hold-up thigh high design in the first picture – it just looks like a pair of regular leggings.. but then… if you walk around, hopefully the upper thigh lace design would show and this creates that mysterious and sexiness that’s perfect for any parties!

As you can tell, the floral prints on the thighs aren’t exactly very visible, but again this adds that element of subtlety to your outfit, especially with the lace! Under certain lightings it just looks like regular over-the-knee black wool socks, but under close inspection it’s definitely a statement – for those who pays attention to details ;)
    2) The Noira – Mock Thigh Highs

In my opinion, the Noira weighs a little down on the scale in terms of sexiness, but makes up in the area of personal comfort. Its mock thigh high design fools the eye into thinking this is a pair of thigh-highs, but do not worry girls you can feel safe dancing the night away in these as they will NEVER fall down! (well unless you make some enemies during your party…)

In terms of comfort, if you’re not a big fan of depending on hold-up skin-adhering material for your modesty, I would suggest going for the Noira or any mock thigh-high design stockings. However both leggings surpassed my expectations as how smooth and tightly woven the material is – and even with my long nails they didn’t even snag as I was putting them on! They also conformed perfectly to my legs, and felt extremely comfortable.

If you’re a big fan of patterned leggings like me, you will definitely love these made-in-Europe leggings from Fiore. If not, Fiore also houses non-patterned leggings, also tailor made for teens!

If you’re in Canada, you can buy these leggings here.
If you’re in the States, there are multiple distributors – you may check them out here.

*Disclaimer: The leggings were gifted to me in exchange for my honest opinion.

Which style do you prefer? Real thigh-highs or mock ones?
    Happie beautiful weekend!!!
    xoxo, Mango

    1. I like the mock thigh high since I prefer comfort. I also own a few pairs of mock thigh highs, and when I go back to wearing regular thigh high socks, it’s a bit uncomfortable. Great post!! :) They look great on you!

      1. Thanks so much Wendy!!! I’m totally with you – I prefer comfort over worrying over potential pitfalls! Hahaha I can’t wait for you to show your mock thigh highs!! They were allll the rage this summer!

    2. So glad I found your blog! I love it!
And I love this post too. I always seem to have trouble with thigh-highs falling down to my ankles when I walk around. I love them a lot, but this problem prevents me from wearing them. Any idea what the problem could be??
