[Review] Dolly Wink Eyelashes No.9 Natural Dolly & No.5 Real Nude

I want to begin the post by saying how EXCITED I am to FINALLY be able to get my hands on a pair of Dolly Wink eyelashes! They are a cult favorite in the makeup and falsies world, and for some reason I’ve never gotten one for myself, despite the constant allure. 
Then finally I made up my mind and got two pairs of Dolly Wink lashes (top and bottom) from Loveshoppingholics, in No. 9 Natural Dolly and No. 5 Real Nude.

 

Dolly Wink have a wiiiiiide range of selection for their lashes, ranging from super super natural looking falsies to sexy seductive kitty lashes, AND they’re famous for their comfort, quality of individual hair and also their lash glue. Eack packet contains 2 pairs of lashes + one tiny dolly wink lash glue.
One of the tell-tale signs of a quality lash set is how the individual hairs gradually become thinner, almost spikey at the ends. This is in imitation to our real lash hairs, as opposed to having the same thickness all the way from root to end which a lot of cheap lashes have.
Both top and bottom lashes sport thin, flexible, CLEAR lash-bands, which are must-haves if you’re going for that natural super eye-opening look. One thing I did notice is that the lashes tend to be slightly longer than regular falsies – and it’s totally up to you if you want to trim the ends off. For me I didn’t have to trim as the length was perfect for my eyes.
Tip Time!!!! OK I am sharing my TOP SECRET LASH TIPS with you guys because I am COOL and YOU’RE WELCOME. ^^
Tip #1: When placing glue on the lash-band, make sure you apply more on the ends of the lash because those are areas that tend to peel off over time…. (ok this one wasn’t so top secret ….)
Tip #2: Before applying glue on bottom lashes, slightly bend 1/3 of the beginning of the lash inwards so it forms that curve to fit your eye. Unless you have stick-straight lower lashline.

Hope I didn’t scare you guys with a super close-up of my eye. But IMO my eye looks quite nice here… especially with the top lashes! See how it blends in perfectly with my own lashes and the clear lash-band really helped with the blending? #Icanhazbarbielashestoo

Comfort: 9/10
The clear lash band is super flexible and gives really good comfort, but the ultimate comfort level depends on how closely you position the lash to your inner eyecorner. To achieve the max dolly and natural effect, I placed it really close to my tearducts and it was not fun at all. But for my subsequent times I placed it slightly further and could wear them out for the whole day without feeling them! 
Design: 10/10
Both top and bottom lashes were superb in terms of design and how real they look. Look at full face pics!!!!! I love the criss-cross and curl of the top one, and the naturalness of the bottom lash. 
Reusability: 10/10
Unlike some other fake lashes that totally disintegrate when they’ve been worn once, these Dolly Winks stay put. No matter how rough I am with my makeup remover routine, they remain intact and ready to use again. To date I’ve used them about 4 times and they look brand new!!!! In fact, the more you use them the more they mold to your lash line so application only gets easier and easier.

    Those lashes look so pretty! I actually appreciate the close up pictures, even of your eyes because it shows how they look properly, I can get a very good idea of how it works. I truly must be the only girl tha hasn’t tried false lashes before…
    Great review. I’ve always read good things about dolly wink, that they have amazing quality products.

      Aw hehe I guess falsies can be intimidating, especially if you already have long beautiful lashes like yourself. I would say Dolly Winks are an excellent way to get introduced to the world of falsies though :D

    I also have Real Nude and I love them too!! Natural Dolly looks really nice, I recommend you to pick Feminine Style if you want to go for another really natural-looking falsies! You are gorgeous as always <3

    Hey Mango! I badly want to try Dolly Wink lashes for soooo long, I adore how natural they look but extra glamorous :) I love how great they blended with your real lashes, I can’t even tell that you’re wearing falsies :) I really love false lashes but I suck at putting them on. I still haven’t found a technique that will work best for me, it takes me literally an hour to put them on, it’s crazy!     They looks so great and quite natural! They’re not ridiculously thick and long like how a lot of other people put them on. I’ve never worn fake eyelashes, but this post makes putting fake lashes so easy!
